Symptoms induced in controlled conditions (fumigation with ozone)

cv. Meridian

Interveinal chlorosis induced by ozone exposure on spinach cv Meridian leaves (B). In advanced stages, marginal bifacial necrosis can be observed (A) and high discoloration appears. Ozone exposure affects mainly the oldest leaves of the plants although main veins keep green and unaffected (A and B).

 

cv. Viroflay

Ozone symptoms onset is slight chlorosis in the tip of the oldest leaves of spinach cv Viroflay (A and D). At the end of ozone exposure period, a severe chlorosis is observed (B). Ozone symptoms in spinach as beggining stage (D) are hardly noticeable when comparing with control leaves (C).
